Did you know that on Uber drivers' version of the Uber app, there is a private function which is known as "God View"? And doesn't "God View" sound incredibly fucking sinister – so sinister, in fact, that not even known non-human deity Beyoncé is immune to its wiles?
It has recently come to light, during the civil court case brought against Uber by former employee Samuel Ward Spangenberg, that drivers who had access to the "God View" feature, allowing them to see clients' whereabouts. The groups most frequently observed comprised of "high-profile politicians, celebrities and even personal acquaintances of Uber employees, including ex-boyfriends/girlfriends, and ex-spouses", the Guardian reports. According to Spangenberg's testimony, Beyoncé was one of the celebrities being watched.
So if you're planning on grabbing an Uber after your next big night out, better make sure you weren't anywhere you shouldn't have been first. Crawling into a taxi has never felt so dystopian!
