While the rest of the world had their eyes and ears on Kanye West last night, James Blake caught us unawares by stealthily lobbing a brand new song slap-bang into the midst of his usual BBC Radio 1 residency. The new track, titled “Modern Soul”, is a predictably lush little number.

There’s still no word on the release date for Radio Silence, the new album Blake announced last year. The only details we’ve got on that one are that big Yeezy and Bon Iver’s Justin Vernon are supposed to be making an appearance. So, until Blake decides to shed a bit more light on his upcoming opus, you’re going to have to savour “Modern Soul”, so do yourself a favour and listen here:
