Back in October, Gwen Stefani, queen of heartache and crop tops, came through with a new break-up anthem in the form of minimalist synth-pop hit "Used to Love You" from her forthcoming album This Is What the Truth Feels Like (her first solo venture in ten years).
Now she's followed it up with "Make Me Like You", a track that'll give you a bigger sugar rush than downing a Tango Ice Blast in 20 seconds, and somehow manages to make the failures of romance sound REALLY FUN. There's something a little The Cardigan's "Lovefool" about it too – calling back to the melodies and structure of 90s alt-rock-lite dancefloor fillers, and giving them a modern twist.
Meanwhile, the other three members of No Doubt have teamed up with AFI's Davey Havok, of all people, to form a supergroup sans-Gwen, and already have plans to release an album. So, there's that too.
Listen to "Make Me Like You" below.
