Girls Dreams

There's something about the latest single from 19-year-old Jordan Cardy, aka BBC Sound of 2016 nominee Rat Boy. Which is to say, it pokes you in the back of the head, whispers Beastie Boys and runs off laughing, dribbling coca-cola all down its t-shirt. All the ticks are there: boombox lead beats, chattering chip-munk vocals in the chorus, distorted bass riffs. It's like Cardy transposed himself into MCA, Mike D and Ad-Rock's sessions for Paul's Boutique and travelled all the way back in that car the Doc drives in Back to the Future. Today that single, which is called "Move", comes with a music video, which is directed by Dillon Markey, the animator for Adult Swim's hit stop-motion series Robot Chicken. Have a watch below and then think about how hard animation must be.
