Ding! Ding Ding! Move back, lads, literal heavyweight beef coming through.
After going up against Anthony Joshua in December's British heavyweight title clash (and subsequently getting knocked out), boxer Dillian Whyte has some salty things to say about Stormzy – who played Joshua to the ring with a rendition of "Shut Up" that began with the lyrics: "Man trying to say he's better than AJ / Tell my man shut up." I think the phrase you're looking for here is "OOOOOH". Anyway, the performance gave "Shut Up" another boost and led to a campaign that succeeded in beating the X Factor single in the Christmas charts.
Presumably Dillian Whyte wasn't one of the people who helped the single achieve its place, because he just threw some dense woodland levels of shade at Big Stormz for "promoting gangsta rap", siding with a North Londoner (Joshua) instead of a fellow South Londoner (Whyte), and only being, "in it for money and fame".
"If you're from South, you stick with South," he said. "Stormzy's talking rubbish about 'Chat shit get banged'. You think Stormzy could say that to my face? You think Stormzy could tell me to shut up? Come on, bruv!" When asked by the interviewer what he'd do if Stormzy did, actually, tell him to shut up, Whyte said, "I'd knock him out. I'd give him the real one bang and knock him out."
Again, I think the phrase you're looking for here is "OOOOOH". Of course, we care for Stormzy's safety, and we're awaiting Stormzy's response, but when you consider that some of the greatest grime tracks of all time have come as a result of someone slagging someone else off, it's not unrealistic to think that something quite tasty could come of this.
