Girls Dreams

If you've ever found yourself out in public, shifting uncomfortably and trying to peel your t-shirt from your back because your own self-consciousness is giving you cold sweats, then find some comfort in the knowledge that you're not alone. Feeling anxious is not uncommon, but an outlet or touchstone for it can be hard to find. Fortunately, Sheer from Simi Valley, California, have you covered.

A blend of shoegaze, grunge and power pop, Sheer are simultaneously suggestive of Galaxie 500, The Smashing Pumpkins and Kristina Esfandiari's dream pop project Miserable. We're premiering the title track from their forthcoming debut album Uneasy. With big fuzzy riffs and the kind of vocals that settle into you like hug, Sheer find empowerment in singing your anxities out loud.

Lead vocalst/guitarist Gina says the song is "about being around someone (even one you feel the most comfortable around), or being in public and feeling out of place and shameful. You become paranoid and self-conscious about your looks, your body language and general existence and end up being in your own head rather than in the moment. Overall, the song is about a battle with social anxiety that at times seems impossible to overcome."

Uneasy will be released on November 20 via The Native Sound and is available to pre-order now.
