Girls Dreams

Lake Michigan, the moniker of London-based musician Chris Marks, has been described as sounding like he just got out of bed. The caveat to that is that it's either because it's 4am and he still can't sleep or he's been there for quite some time - because the sluggish nature of Lake Michigan is one of struggle rather than indifference.

Vocally reminiscent of a more straight-up John Maus, a less quixotic Daniel Johnston, or even a sleepy Nick Cave, Lake Michigan's dimly lit confessions are the kind you pull the sheets off in the early hours of the morning and carry around on creaking footsteps throughout the house. We're premiering "Boxes" from his forthcoming album Further out in 2016, and it's like a siren song for everyone whose version of "Netflix and chill" means "Frasier for company until the sun comes up and remember to breathe". Hit snooze on life and listen below:

Futher will be released via Wolf Town DIY / Lunar Lander / Ruined Smile Recs.
