Yasiin Bey (fka Mos Def) originally announced that his final album, December 99th, would be released on December 9, just ahead of his final performances. Though Bey missed the initial release date for the album that is solely produced by Ferrari Sheppard, he finally released it today. The collaborative project was recorded in South Africa where Bey was detained since January for attempting to leave the country with a world passport. He is now deemed an "undesirable person" by the country's home affairs department and will not be allowed to return.
