A Tribe Called Quest's We Got It from Here... Thank You 4 Your Service has quickly established itself as a classic in a cluttered era. It is, as we wrote in our 100 albums of 2016, more than just a fitting tribute to the late Phife Dawg; it was a sharp-tongued conversation with all his wit and wisdom involved.
Following on from their rousing SNL performance three weeks back, Tribe returned to late night yesterday with a performance of "Dis Generation," once again featuring Busta Rhymes. It's a wonderful, energetic, grin-inducing performance; but the moment that the three point towards the sky and let Phife's line ring out, Busta Rhymes shouting "Get 'em Phife" over the top, is a slice of perfection.
