On May 31, 1986, John Heyn and Jeff Krulik filmed Judas Priest fans in a concert arena parking lot in suburban Maryland (Landover to be exact).

Heavy Metal Parking Lot has been hailed as a definitive cultural touchstone for the 1980s metal scene: spandex, big hair, denim, mullets, muscle cars and beer.

By the early 1990s, Heavy Metal Parking Lot had become an underground cult-classic, usually traded on bootleg VHS videotapes.
