Girls Dreams

The musician Jacob Vetter, otherwise known to the world as the artist JATA, is kinda like a massive sponge for musical genres. He spent some of his early years in Washington DC, where he grew up on 90s R&B and golden age hip-hop, then carried that sound back to Germany, where electronic music was booming. The result was what we called a "new Berlin sound" – a mesh of genres that sounds seperated from the Kraftwerk like techno we're more used to hearing from the European club capital. In fact, JATA's sound lends itself more to the American R&B sounds that he grew up on, than anything that's come out of Euro-dance.

Today JATA premieres his latest video, for the track "Don't Feel Like". Shot in a graveyard, it features a bunch of ultra-light beams and a jewelled mask that seems to have been imported direct from Kanye West's closet circa 2013.
