Earlier this month, North London MC Meridian Dan released the video for “Couple Killers”, which saw him and featuring artist Mytus burst out of a van in hot pursuit of a guy who looked utterly terrified. Now, in that video’s follow-up “I Ain’t Shook” (below), that same guy returns with a fresh sense of confidence, trying to convince us, and himself, that he ain’t shook by anything. Meridian Dan, on the other hand, looks genuinely unfazed.
“I could never be shook trust me,” he spits. “All you lot just better keep training, you better know which part you're aiming / I don’t wanna hear no one complaining, when it gets dark and it don't stop raining”. The track itself is ridiculously catchy, with bouncing, spitfire production from Redlight, who has previously produced tracks for Jammer and Maverick Sabre.
It’s the second in a series of Chas Appeti-directed videos that Meridian Dan – who set grime alight in 2013 with breakthrough hit "German Whip" – will be releasing over the coming months, all leading up to a brand new mixtape in April.
