Forget these bedroom producers and popstars who put on lacklustre, anaemia fuelled performances - sometimes you want to see a band tear shit up. Brighton four-piece Yonaka fit the bill in the truest sense of the word. They smashed their way through over thirty shows last year - not bad, considering it was also the year they formed. As the heavyweight melodies of their debut single "Ignorance" wrestle each other, it's evident why they're such a desirable proposition live. This is music that breathes performance. It has a driving, almost stabbing quality to it; one that's a prerequisite to tapping your foot and not being able to swallow because the low rumble of the bass is tickling the back of your throat. Listen below and feel something.
"Ignorance" is out on Hometown Records on March 4, 2016.
