Girls Dreams

"We are the Southern Brazilian rats," says Water Rats' lead singer Alex Capile. "We live in polluted rivers, eating garbage, living free and wild."

Forever Vacation, the first of four short films in the Converse Rubber Tracks series, traces the Brazilian punks' filthy, high-speed rock 'n' roll from the "pretty conservative" confines of Curitiba, Brazil to Avast! Studios in Seattle. Jack Endino, the man behind the desk on Nirvana's Bleach and Mudhoney's Superfuzz Bigmuff, takes the reins, beefing up the band's sound, before Thurston Moore rolls through and gets swept up.

Director Gandja Monteiro shoots Curitiba, São Paulo, and Seattle beautifully, capturing the anarchic energy that defines the band and playing it off against each city's unique atmosphere.

We’ll be showing a new short film from Converse Rubber Tracks once a week for the next four weeks, following the stories of four bands and their opportunity to record in world famous studios with legendary artists.
