That press shot is a good encapsulation of Chiara Hunter's music. Colourful, opposing, and direct - a sound that's some part future funk, other parts hip-hop, final parts pop. And she's already made a name for herself. Earlier this year saw Chiara hit the top ten on influential tastemaking blog-aggregating site The Hype Machine, and now we're premiering her latest cut on Noisey.
"War" is Chiara's latest track and it comes with a verse from rapper Gifted Gab. It's "about fighting for your place in the world, fighting for what you believe in - as an artist, as a human", Chiara says. "It’s about what sacrifices you’re willing to make and how far you’re willing to push yourself to achieve what you always dreamed of. But ultimately it’s about the fight to believe in yourself which can be the hardest thing to do”. Listen below.
