Girls Dreams

You guys have heard Radiohead's Kid A right? Given that it's one of, if not the best, record of the noughties, you would be hard pressed to find a music fan who hasn't heard it yet. If you're still in school, go and download it now. Spend a day sucking on a lemon. Smoke a joint. Come to your own conclusion on whether Radiohead are for boring nerds or geniuses and savants. Experience it!

One person who has clearly experienced Radiohead's seminal record is Milwaukee rapper Webster X and Q The Sun. In fact, they've been so inspired by Kid A that their latest EP, called KidX, takes some of cues from the Radiohead record; the opener to the EP has shades of Kid A opener "Everything In Its Right Place" in the production. It's just about Thom Yorke, sad-boy for the dad generation, though. The concept of KidX centers on darkness and depression too, and I guess, through its driving force of hooks and, at times, upbeat and psycedelic instrumentation, aims to take the listener away from the dumps and into the light. Listen below.
