Today, we're premiering The Twilight Sad's new stripped down record, Oran Mor Session. When a band puts out a live record, normally it doesn't capture what it feels like to be there. The feeling of seeing the band gets conflated with how good they are live, and so the rawness and excitement of being that close to another person can fall to the wayside. This is why The Twilight Sad's new Oran Mor Session is so successful. Instead of being recorded in front of a huge group of people, the record is recorded in an intimate setting, allowing the two to play versions of the song that are raw and unfettered. It takes the nice production and effect the band previously built up, and then stripping it back to its core of pure songwriting.
Listen to the album below, and read our interview with the band right here. Also pick up your copy of the record before it comes out this Friday, October 16.
