With a band name like Bed (stylised resolutely as "bed.") you would expect the music to be comforting to the point it almost fades into the background, but rather than being a hand that rocks the cradle, Alex and Sierra Haager's songs are so captivating you'll find yourself forsaking sleep to stay up all night listening to them.
In 2013, the pair quit their jobs, escaped their lives in California and headed north to start Breakup Records. They spend most of their time working with some of their favorite bands, but still found time to create a new music project for themselves. They're currently in the studio recording their debut album with producer Larry Crane - who has worked with Sleater-Kinney, Elliott Smith, and The Thermals, no less - but today we're premiering "The Rule" from their forthcoming EP Klickitat. With breathy vocals skipping over crunchy guitars, bed. sound like a less abrasive Tilly and the Wall or a sunnier Azure Ray. Tuck into it below and get swept up in a beautiful dream of Saddle Creek's golden years.
Klickitat EP will be released via Bug Hunt in April 2016 and is available to pre-order now.
